Wish I had an arched D25 to throw a wrench into it all. Soon.

On that recording, the D25, however, I fell like the sound was quite muffled. In a live setting I could probably give a much better answer.

Could be that my D35 is not setup properly, but I really think my D25 is a gem. Ya know, sometimes guitars don't work out, but sometimes they do. D25 is a keeper.

Thanks for weighing in everyone.

As you know, Woody, we have nearly identical instruments (both '71 D-25's and my D-35 '73 instead of a '72). The tonal characteristics are similar to what I am hearing out of yours. I find the greatest difference is in the decay, in that the D-25 sustain decays faster and provides greater note separation, perfect for fingerpicking. I like my D-35 more as a strummer. Both get a lot of love. Neither hold onto a note like my D-50, which under certain circumstances is a good thing.

Well said Neal, describes it exactly but I just couldn't find the words. I play the D35 more even though the D25 sounds warmer.
