First posting here so...........first hello to you all and, first question??? In a week or so Im making a trip to a small town about an hour west of home to be introduced to a 1990 D100NT (natural top). I've received pics and it looks mint, virtualy unplayed. Question, anyone played one of these and whats the "ballpark" value on something like this. There is precious little available by googling the model. Any info is appreciated.

Cheers

Welcome aboard LTG, zeebee.

D100s are the most ornate of the Guild dreads. Very cool, carved neck...

Good luck on this one. I'm not sure on value, but I'd guess 2.5k+

Re: D100 pics added

Seems like 90 was the first year for these. Nice pics. Personally I would consider one without the carved heel less valuable.

How much is the seller asking?

Nice looking guitar, like I said. Don't come back and tell us you got it for 1500 bucks.

Good luck, hope it sounds great and you can get what you feel is a good price. Like I said the last two, both with carved heels, that sold on ebay went for 3000 plus. If I remember correctly, one sold at Elderly Guitars, with some scuffs and such for around 2200.

Let us know how it goes.

If it's mint, no issues and virtually unplayed, then $3000 is not too much to pay. The pix are awful nice.

Good luck.

That looks like a beauty! Personally, I don't care for the carved neck heel at all, so this one would be my persoanl choice.

Re: D100 pics added

Beautiful guitar, but, I was unaware that they made them without the carved heel. I learn something new about my favorite brand every day on this site.
I've owned two and they were both amazing guitars, but, didn't sound at all like D-55's I've owned. D-55 seems to me to have a more pronounced mid-range scoop than the D-100 which is more balanced across the spectrum. Tone is sometimes hard to describe but I loved both of mine. It's the sale of guitars like this that give me my signature. Good luck!!

Re: D100 pics added

I decided to pass. In fact decided not even to take the drive. I spoke with a number of Guild dealers and, the consensus was that Guilds from this era (1990) tended to be overbuilt at least compared to what came before and what you can get now from Guild. To me geets are primarily about tone with "bling" down the list of priorities. That said, it is a gorgeous geet. The owner will be listing it this week. I'll see if I can get his OK to provide an email link.

Did anyone happen to save the pics of this D-100 made in 1990. I knew you could get them with or without carved heel at that time but did not know they were ever made with a one piece neck. If anyone saved those pics, Hans would like to see a photo of one with a solid neck as he has never seen one either. Thanks
