Title says it all. My preference is for Sunburst without a pickup, but will consider any. I'd also consider an Orpheum 14-Fret SS Dreadnought. Let me know what you got!

Thanks!

Elderly Music also had a nice one. I posted a link on this a while back. Not sure if it's still available but it was priced pretty attractively. Not Burst though, if I remember right.

Thanks for the pointers guys. The Elderly one is an ’87, so not what I am looking for.

The GC one may have potential. While I can’t see the label clearly, it may be a New Hartford. Only gripe I have is the poorly placed strap button on body of guitar. That really should have been placed in the neck heel. Think I will pass for now and hold out for something better, but may circle back to it later.

Thanks!

Proper location of a strap button tends to be a strongly held personal preference :)

At some point New Hartford did not put a strap button on any instrument unless it had factory installed electronics so you may get to blame a previous owner and not the factory.

NT w/DTAR electronics. Not exactly what I want, but NOS makes it super tempting, thank you FNG!

I’ve been eyeing this for a few weeks. It’s the best D50 BG I’ve seen, stunning. Tacoma made. They have it listed with a rosewood fretboard but that’s an error. I know these had ebony boards and ebony bridge. They will give a $2000 discount, $1600 was the final price, I think that covers shipping as well. On their site, SoundPure. I’ve bought guitars from them in the past, great service and only carry excellent used products. I wish someone would get it so I can stop looking at it🫣

Hi PreacherBob,

Thanks for the pointer. I saw that too on Ebay, it's been up for quite some time. My only trepidation is non-original gator case and the bridge was re-glued, otherwise it looks pretty good. I heard the Tacoma's have chunkier necks which I think I would like.

At this point, I'm still holding out for a Sunburst w/o electronics.

Thanks all!

The one mentioned at GC has an enlarged soundhole...If you are looking for that sort of thing. Not sure why.

Yeah, that's weird, sunpowder. I'm pretty sure you're right about that, and I'm wary of this guitar! Also, the pictures are weirdly cropped and I wonder why. Anyway, the enlarged soundhole might be a bargaining chip with GC.

Hi Boneman,

Yes, I saw that one, thank you. It’s a Westerly though, and I am looking for a Tacoma or New Hartford. But thanks anyway.
Love the burst on that one though, she is a beauty!

Cheers,

Hi Landseagoods, I saw your listing. Sorry, no room in my closet or budget at this time for a D-55, maybe someday. There's a new Oxnard D-55-SB coming into my local dealer's shop soon that I'm looking forward to checking out, but it would have to be something really stellar to get me motivated to buy, since I'd have to let go of something else.

Actually, I have a nice D-50-NT coming in from another LTG member this weekend. I will post an NGD when it comes in. I'm going to keep this post active for the time being until I assess how it sounds/plays, and also since I would still really love to land one in sunburst...

Thanks,
Mandoman

I bought that Tacoma BG D-50. Their necks are not at all "chunkier" than the NH BG D-50. The gator case is a very nice case but new Guild cases are available for a little over $200. The NH neck feels slightly larger to my hands but still very comfortable. The Tacoma build IMHO is a slightly better build than the NH. Because of the Adi tops the Tacoma and NH are the best production d-50's that Guild has made. Again JMHO.
