Folks, please share with me your thoughts about the D-140.

I sold one of my Luthier guitars. Oddly, my less expensive Luthier guitar has attached to me…. Wasn’t playing the other. Looking for a “Stummer” and the 140 seems to check the boxes.

Let me know what you think? I appreciate the input… Thank You

19 Views and narry a peep …. Well the deed has been done. I ordered a D-140 SB from Wolf Music in south Texas. Keep my guitar money in state… I like it!

Well there are those rare occasions where I just shut up when I don't know what I am talking about or have no basis for my opinion :) Looking forward to the NGD.

Can’t argue with that….seems prudent to me.

will post a NGD next week. Excited to receive it. Think it will fit like a glove for what I wanted.

Doons,
Not being a life-long Guildster, I'm not up on the alphabet soup of guitars being discussed in these fora, so I can't comment other than to say if you're happy with your purchase, then you did well.

All I can say is I have an M-120 and if it's an example of Guild's MIC sound and quality I don't think you have anything to worry about. IMHO

Sounds good, looks good,...

Yup, that’s the video that put me on the 140. Now the waiting begins…. it’s just 250 miles south of here, just outside San Antone. Getting a great guitar and supporting a Texan business…. Win, win!

Didn’t see your post yesterday. I bought a used but ‘like new’ D-140 last May and it was a total surprise. This guitar is perfectly built and sounds JUST GREAT! It’s on the bright side and snappy, hope you like this, and a perfect addition to a Martin dread. I love it! Also, for some reason I don’t know, strings seem to last much longer on this guitar.

Played my D55, D-18, SJ-200 and Southern Jumbo this morning …. and now, after reading your post I will take out the D-140. It does very well in direct comparison to it’s much more expensive brothers and sisters.

Off topic but I had that Sears Silverton amp in the background. Wish I had it now, its been gone forty years or so.
