This is the most info I have found so far on the CV-1, other than actually owning one

Same here, except mine is a CO 1. These are by far the best illustrations I have seen of the neck system. I did however meet the young man who designed the system last week at the factory.

He tells me the neck is not glued & comes off by removing the bolts. Apparently it may not go back on as cleanly as the factory installation.

Guild authorized repair techs don't seem to know much about it yet.

What does one need to do to become an authorized Guild technician, I wonder, Jeff. Might be worth asking the tech if he's been certified before asking him to fix or adjust the neck on a CV or CO. If he hasn't been to the factory to be trained, of if he doesn't have any specific tools that might be required, I'm not sure I'd want him/her to learn on MY guitar. Let someone else pay for his education, please.

I couldn't say, I talked to three techs before I took my CO 1 in for a setup. Two of the three were affiliated with major local shops one of which build their own their own line of guitars. the third worked from his home. All were busy.

Seems Guild hasn't made the rounds with tech bulletins & such. I'm thinking Guild needs to hire me as a consultant just till they get it all figured out.

Shouldn't take more than six months max, I'd bid the job cheap if it weren't for the memo's & corporate e mail. And the Friday meetings , rush hour commutes, list is getting longer , I just added a zero to my initial estimate.

Actually, there are some hoops to jump through. It involves financial reports, required equipment depending on the level of qualification for each shop.
Pictures are sent to Fender of the shop, of the equipment, and of custom guitars built by the candidate. Then there is a written test that covers all aspects of guitar and amp construction and diagnosis and repair.

I'll check to see if there are any service bulletins concerning adjustment of the bolt on necks of the CVs and COs.
