Hi,
The process was pretty straight forward.
Get a scan of a pickguard with a ruler next to it, tracing, or as a last resort a pic. JP provided a very good photo as well as the artwork for the logo. I passed that on to a graphic designer/guitar phreak friend who took the image and made optical corrections and created a detailed line drawing with measurements that would print out the correct size. I sent that to Paul and he made a wooden template of the pickguard. The template was used to run the router on the plexiglass to come up with a clear blank. Paul used the Guild Chevron logo that JP provided to make a correctly sized decal which was applied to the back side of the pickguard. The back of the pickguard was then painted with black Krylon spray-paint.
I was able to take the guitar to his shop for final fit including hole drilling for the mounting. Paul is a really nice guy and after chatting a while we realized we had gone to college together and vaguely remembered each other - small world.
I looks amazing and fits perfectly. I had to use a generic bracket that I got from all parts and the holes line up perfectly with the existing holes in the body.
I am a satisfied customer and Paul is working on another one off customer for me and I should get it soon. Once I do I'll post pics.
Paul doesn't have a web site but you can e-mail him at
