Hi Guys, Out of all the colors Guild used on their Starfires over the years. What's your favorite?
Here's mine.

But we also have these stunning colors not counting walnut, blond and sunburst...

From left to right, Cherry red, Ebony grain, Amber and the two Greenies.

Emerald Green is also my favorite color! (even if I only have a Cherry one).

I love any color, as long as it's black!

So for Starfires that would be the one in the second row on the left!

I only owned one SF and it was black. The only guitar I wish I had not sold...

Yes, I agree, my blackstar is sunning as well. I still have this one but back in the 90s has a black SF V. Wish I still had that one.

That's a very cool finish, Hans, I assume from aging, right? What year is it?

Yup! When you look under the pickguard, or under the Bigsby, it will give you an idea what the guitar must have looked like in 1965, when it was new.
It's almost like an 'army camouflage' look now!

I like my natural maple:

But, seriously, there are no unttractive finishes that I have seen on Starfires. Even my least favorite, natural mahogany, is a beautiful guitar.

I agree with Don, they all look great! Lots of good photos of green ones in this thread - I found it tough to photograph mine when I had one. It usually looked black but I got the green to show up here:

Unfortunately, both of those guitars (the 'burst is a T100D, I know) are gone.

I'm going to vote for Cherry:

I'd love to have a black one, but my '61 in cherry over mahogany is pleasing enough!

I like how the transparent cherry is more muted in color over the mahogany.

Hi Again friends, Lots of great photos on this thread, thanks I love it. So far the consensus seems to be that Green and Black are the most popular, with some red, blond or natural, sunburst, etc... But no one has mentioned the Honey amber or Amberstar yet. Personally in my search it was the most difficult to find and then one fell right into my lap thanks to this page.
Here's the 1962 Amberstar II.

The first shot show up very close to it's true color. Here is a shot of my amberstar next to a '63 Cherry red SF III. Many people think that the Amber color is just a faded red, but you can see a distinct difference here.

I have seen dealers and individuals selling faded red SFs as Amberstars. Remember, if it doesn't say Amberstar on the label, it's not an Amberstar.

Hard to argue with you, Mike, after those pictures! That amber is really very pretty...
