Hi again,
Sorry for asking all these questions. Hopefully I can be of help sometime. But would this be the "correct" knobs to buy for my 1962 Ce-100dp? I know that I don't have the original knobs on it now. But if I could get hold of ones with the right look it would be nice!

Thanks,

Carl

Guild was using the transparent G knobs that year (with each knob labeled volume or tone). You won't have an easy time finding originals, but you can get close replacements (not labeled volume or tone) from Guitar Parts Resource.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to consider what I'll do then. The knobs I have look ok and are working, just not original....

I buy from this site, too, Dane. But they don't have the transparent knobs. Unfortunately, neither does GPR anymore, according to my most recent check about a week ago.

True enough. I forgot that's what this was about. There's a guy on eBay that goes by bassplayer437 that sells the transies from time to time.

Yes, he sells a lot of Guild knobs. Used to sell fixed price. Now mostly uses auction listings for the knobs, and I've seen him get as much as $78 for a set of four.

It's interesting, BTW, that GPR and bassplayer's shipping addresses are located in the same Ohio county just SE of Columbus. I don't know the story, but it seems almost intuitive that there would be some past connection there.

As you posted, when Parts is Parts has Guild knobs in stock, they have the best price. Plus, free shipping if you spend $50. Actually, they just sent me a bunch of them to fill an old back order. So, I'm psyched.

Anyone who shares my degree of paranoia probably should view Guild knobs as a "get-'em-while-they're-hot" item. It would be no surprise to learn they are no longer being made by Fender because Guild know longer makes electric guitars.
