I've never been bothered by various nut widths. For me it's the whole neck shape and fretboard as a unit that would make things not work. Not that I have found a combo that doesn't work. The 12 string is 1-7/8" I think, but not a deep round back of the neck.

Spent about a half hour playing the one at GC this evening and I'm still searching. The CV-2 is checking all the boxes for me right now, but not this one.

There were a number of nicks and dings in the finish that I could deal with, but there were also signs of drips/drops of something splashed on the finish that wasn't removed quickly enough. Its certainly possible they could be polished out but probably not without a bit of swirl remover or buffing compound. There is no saddle left to speak of so a reset is likely in order, but considering the bolt on neck that shouldn't really be a big deal. Also the binding is starting to separate at the waist on both sides; oddly that is the case with all three CV-2s discussed in this thread.

Honestly, the deal breaker for me was probably the pickguard. I understand that pickguards are often easy to remove with a little bit of heat and patience, but this one is clearly hand cut and poorly done at that. Considering what seems to be lack of care for the guitar overall, and the poorly executed DIY pick guard, I have no confidence that I'd be able to remove it without damaging the finish. For all I know its stuck on with CA glue.

Saw this on the verb for under $1k. Reasonable shipping cost. It’s a CV-1 Tacomer Warshington. It’s got the “USED” stamp due to discontinued status when the plant moved to NH, CT. Looks really pretty though.

Looks like Norman's has one with a really interesting headstock overlay, but its more than I'm looking to spend.

I should add that I am pretty confident that with patience I should be able to find one pretty close to a $1k price point. I probably should have gone after the one Rayk bought earlier this year, but I was holding out for a burst.

Well there is an offer button. However it it is doubtful Norman’s will budge much given their overhead..

Dude! Don't you know if you pay too much it drives the price up for the rest of us willing to risk it on one of these?

That’s well over priced for a red label overhead or not . That’s about what they went new

Don’t sweet it my little purchase won’t have a ripple effect especially now every thing is priced way to high .

18 bucks for a sirloin steak for Pete sakes .

I did pay a bit high on my CV-1 but it’s not a red label and needs no work plus it’s sunburst so there’s a few bucks more .

A pound of ground turkey was 7 bucks today. I opted for the less healthy ground beef for 4 bucks a pound.

So, I get your point.

Funny thing, my favored buffalo has been stable, looks like a great deal at $10.99/lb compared to to ribeye for example, and no gristle, no bone. :)
