Confirmation on an often used acronym.

Often I have seen the acronym GAS used here. GAS = Guitar Acquisition Syndrome or something close to that? :? Thanks.

I originally knew it years ago as "Guitar Acquisition Syndrome", but I see it now as "Gear Acquisition Syndrome".

Many of us started with 'guitar acquisition syndrom' only to see it get out of control and turn into "Guild Acquisition Syndrom".
