I know I have had some strong opinions about Gibson, but to my ears when listening to this clip through headphones. That Gibson is sounding lush. Maple goodness.
Making my Maple jumbo GAS flare up... Also, Larry Sanders was a great show. Super funny and ahead of its time in many ways. Artie ( Late Rip Torn ) is just a treasure on that show..

Always happy to feed the maple jumbo GAS beast, here are my two very satisfying plain-janers, a J-100xt made in 2000, and a JF-30 from 1994:

Those are stunning Bob.. Just stunning. I can almost hear them.. Though I have never been a big Gibson fan, I think I could find a place for a Maple Jumbo..

Because I’ve been drawn to Gibsons for a long time, I’ve played & owned many maple jumbos over the years. Some have been complete dead-thump duds, others have been punchy & well balanced, and a few have had a particularly rich & deep rumble on the low end that pleasantly shakes your tummy while retaining strength at the high end. This J-100xt has that rumble & has remained with me while others have come & gone. Conversely, my hands-on experience with Guild jumbos is exclusively with this particular JF-30, but it had me at first strum. It’s tone has a deep presence, but it remains even & balanced across all strings. I’d be an emotional mess if I had to let one go. Indeed, there’s something special about a good maple jumbo - just ask Emmylou!

I've played a bunch of jumbo maple Gibsons, and other than Reverend Gary Davis's '51 (seller want's $10K with no takers, and it needs a bunch of work), the best playing and sounding jumbo I've tried is my F50ce. Just an amazing guitar for the money.

Some of the good sound on that clip might be because of Colin Hay, too. I never miss him when he comes around!
