I know Guild made one but what was it called??
Anybody own one? And how does it play?
I love my peregrine but I was wondering if the classical neck versions were any good.

That would be the Paloma. I have one made for NAMM... Got it from one of our members. Very nice.. The neck is wide like a classical guitar and it must be amplified to do anything. I think it would be better if it had an 18 volt pickup in it.. IMO Guild just missed making the perfect stage guitar.. That being the Peregrine or Paloma with a Rick Turner (the T in DTAR) pickup. Rick became associated with Guild after they moved to Tacoma. And the Custom shop stopped making guitars when they moved to Corona.

And no I will not modify my Paloma..

I'm really pleased with my Paloma. The neck is wider like a classical guitar, but also there's a bit of radius to the fretboard so it feels more like a "normal" guitar. I think it's the nicest looking of the electric/chambered/classical guitars that I've seen. I've heard complaints about the pickup system in both Peregrine's and Paloma's - that the output level is low or weak - maybe it's a headroom thing when you play hard. Myself, I'm happy with both and have no issues. Played through my Fender Blues Junior with a little touch of reverb it sounds sweet and natural.

The Paloma seems like like a great design to me, I've not played one but was always interested. I have a the steel string Peregrine and am very happy with it. I've also seen comments about the factory fishman pickups but find the output to be fine. As always a well made guitar! I will have to say it took me a while to settle on strings that I liked on the Peregrine. I started with semi flatwound phospher bronze light guage and ended up with roundwound brass light guage.
