At some point when I was summarizing the history of Starfire basses I implied that the Mickey Mouse PU predated the Bisonic. However, if I understood what I thought I read about the JetStar in Hans' book, the JetStar started out with a Bisonic, switched to a Mickey Mouse and then switched back to a Bisonic.
So did the Starfire bass start out with a Mickey Mouse and then switch to a Bisonic or did it also go Bisonic, Mickey Mouse, Bisonic?
Since both Starfire and JetStar basses have been observed with 1964 serial numbers, which came first? My guess is the JetStar but I'm not sure.
Did they use the same neck or did someone already know which model a neck was destined for when the serial number was assigned?
Thanks.
