Does anyone have experience with a Guild CE 100 D Capri from the eighties ?

As I've read these are a little deeper than the older models. Does this mean they are more subject to feedback also ?
Is it still posdible to use these with a blues- overdriven tone ?

What is the average price for the guitars from this era ? I saw a Capri from 1981 in appararently a good condition for 2390 EUR. Just the pickguard was missing. (Seller was a commercial seller so I know he has to have his profit also and can accept that as long as it is not too crazy).

Yes, the later ones are about 1/2" (12 mm) deeper than the ones from the '60s. I think feedback is going to be determined by overall volume and amp placement relative to the guitar. If you play really loud, I don't think a hollow body guitar is the best choice. My '77 CE-100D would feedback very easily. My '81 CE-100D is less prone. But that's playing at home, not on stage. Good luck with your quest!

I had a late 70's CE100 and it was deeper and built with a thicker plywood top soundboard. However it was harder to control it's howelling feedback than a 60's version of the CE100 which is built with thinner top wood and thinner body.

In reading an article about Steve Howell of YES he indicated he controlled the feedback from his Gibson 175 by keeping the amplifier bass control turned down.

I gave up on the CE100 and sold it.

Thanks for all your answers.
Big difficulty for me regarding vintage guitars is to see what is an acceptable price.
Prices seem to have risen the last few years or I am looking at the wrong adds ;-)
Not looking for "a bargain" but don't want to pay "too much" either !
