Hello

Here in Finland we have this habit of bringing candles to graveyard - usually there are some all the time - but on special nights - x-mas etc . . . and today All Saints Day - or halloween. Looks pretty. In this picture there is only one small row of candles. Around and behind there must be thousands of candles glowing.

Here in USA we have many Latino friends and family... we do Dia de los Muretos.... The day of the Dead. It's a lovely thing.... here, Mexico, Latin America and even South America.... go to the graveyards and light lanterns and sing and tell stories about the dead....

I think it's a lovely thing. Thanks @Nuuska for sharing your countries traditions with us....:love:

Great way to remember loved ones. We do something similar but we do it inside our church and this past Sunday (All Saints Day for us) was our remembrance. We had four different areas in the sanctuary with 100 unlit candles in small glass containers. During the service a 15 minute time period was scheduled for any or all of the congregation to take a turn and light a candle in remembrance of those you had lost who had a positive influence on your life. Personally, I was more blessed by these 15 minutes than the sermon.

Lovely tradition. Jewish tradition is to put a stone on the headstone. I like the Finnish tradition much better!
