About 15 years ago I saw him at a small venue in Davis, CA and sat about 5 feet away from the stage. Just amazing. I dare say no one like him, nor will there ever be anyone like him again.
Don't expect my call.

What fun! :D I couldn't get it to copy, but Doc's "Blue Railroad Train" is great too.

First I heard of Black Mountain Rag was on an album I still have "Earl Scruggs, His Family and Friends." Young Randy Scruggs plays it very well :D They interview his High School Principal and he says "Well, he skips school a lot...." then they cut to Randy and he rips on black Mountain Rag...I'm thinkin' when he was skipping school that boy was home playing his guitar

I had that album, too, when it first came out and I remember one of Randy's teachers talking about a "faux pas" being pronounced as a "fox pass."
