Cable with Built-in Preamp

I have 50 or so nerds (geeks, propeller-heads) that work for me. About 1/3 play guitar, I think. I took a long weekend and one them made a cable with a built-in preamp for me while I was gone.

Honestly don't know... I run everything though a pre-amp, just so I have a little more control. It may be absolutely the only part of my life I can control, or balance, or mix well... :lol:

Hi Russ; pretty cool but no mention of tone or sound quality anywhere ... got any idea of whether it's tonally neutral or what?
