Bumping my Carlo Greco question to the top

So, can anyone tell me more about those Florentine inlays on my F-512? I read on this board, somewhere, that apparently Carlo Greco either did the work or had a hand in supervising it.

Buzzy Levine over at Lark Street thought that the guitar would be designated "Limited" or "Special Edition" or some such suffix to indicate the custom fretmarkers. Since my guitar lacks any such designation, why would my guitar have them -- unless it was a custom order, maybe? (Look, I'm answering my own question.)

Also, does anyone know the production numbers for the F-612? I know it has an 18" bout... I'd love to hear a comparison of the two guitars' sound. Anyone have any experience?

I have a 1970 Indian with that inlay, but there is no "cust" or "spc" mark. As Hans notes, Guild was inconsistent about using such markers.

Here is a guy who took guitar lessons from me, and when he saw my 512, he had to get one just like it.

None of the Limited editions I have seen have had a tag labeling them "Limited Edition". All of the custom shops I have seen (not too many so please take lightly) have had a tag marking them "custom shop". Not sure if that helps you any.

No, mine is all Indian. I think I've seen the one you are talking about. Isn't it an arched laminate back?

Yeah, I checked, and it isn't you.

He's over at UMGF under the thread "Guild F-12 owners" in the 12-string cafe. I don't know the diff between a laminate and non-laminate. He says his guitar is a hybrid EIR and Brazilian. The arch back is what really got me -- it looks so cool.
