I apologize if this post has occurred before, but honestly, I couldn't find the specific answer to my question.

I want to replace the bridge pins in my 512 with bone ones. I found a post earlier which linked to Maury's Music. The size they list is 4.3, which apparently fits Guild guitars. Does that mean ALL Guilds? Is that a mm dimension?

I await your responses.

Cheers,
Barbara

Hey Barbara...
No... I don't think you can assume that one size fits all, when it comes to Guild bridge pins. My six dreads have come to me with three different size: 0.207" (4.2D), 0.215" (2C), and 0.220" (2A/B) (all 5 degree taper, I believe). I would try and track down a digital or dial caliper/micrometer and measure the pins currently in your guitars. I have also sent pins to Gordon Orth to copy the size in bone... his bone pins w 4mm ab dot inlays run ~$35. A little more than what you might pay for plain bone pins from a supplier... but they look great and you will know they fit. PM if you'd like Gordon's contact info.

Added: 4.3 doesn't correspond to a mm size... that would be ~0.172", which is way small. I just think it's a size number. Sizes I quoted were inches max diameter (just below the collar).
