I doubt it... based on the headstock shape (newer tapered design introduced in the mid-80s) and SN, I'd guess that's a DV-52 from ~'93, not one of the '80s D-52s (which would have the classic "domed" headstock). Hans has commented before on how early DV-52s ended up with D-52 model designations on their labels. Of course... I could be wrong (again). Dvae

Yep, looks like a DV-52. They are great guitars. I played one today, but just could not come to an agreeable deal.

Ya, I knew about the D52-DV52. I know it's doubtful, but that sure looks more like Braz than Indian...

Guys I checked and researched and this is a DV-52s Made in 1993 at least that is what the research tells me. I think it would be a great buy at this price!!!

Yeah, not a bad BIN for an early (satin, herringbone rosette) DV-52. And the "hairline crack" may well just be the place where the 2 pieces of the top meet in the center, sometimes mistaken for a crack.

Pretty rosewood back, yeah!

I had a conversation with the seller when he first put the guitar up (its been up on eBay more than once), and he didn't want to even consider that this might have been an early 1990s DV52. I pointed out to him the reasons that this was a DV-52, and he still clung to the idea that this ia a 1980s D-52.

The late 1993 DV-52 that I have is a very good guitar. Really nice, deep, warm bass, and the midrange and trebles are well balanced with the basses. Great looking guitar, too. Mine is also satin, athough I think I may have preferred a high gloss, you don't always have that choice when buying a used guitar.
