as the title states I bought an old D-4 back that I had sold 2 years ago and regretted shortly after but this morning when I stopped by a pawnshop and saw my old D-4 sitting on the rack that had been sitting there for about a year with them asking about $500. Well this morning it had been marked down and I shot an offer of $300 since that seems like a good price for a D-4 in solid structural shape (it had a small top crack repair but nothing major). Was a bit lower than what I had sold it for about 2 years ago so another plus.

Does it sound and play as you remembered it?

I've bought back a couple of guitars, but was always disappointed. I hope that Thomas Wolfe was only right in my case and you enjoy your reacquisition.

Congratulations! Good that you rescued her and she found her way home. I don't know why, but I would be horrified to see one of my guitars in a pawn shop!

I haven't seen any of my former guitars in a pawn shop, but I've seen at least a dozen or so of my ex-G&Ls for sale on-line over the last 25 years.

I kinda was too but I was more horrified that it wouldn’t survive in the hands of the guy I sold it to because he was always hard on his guitars. After I sold it to him I remembered the time he had a cheap Hohner acoustic he broke the truss rod on cranking on it trying to get the action lower. Ended up getting PO’d at it and reducing it to toothpicks smashing it up against a telephone pole outside his house. Luckily it survived his ownership
