Good point, and I think I need to look at that. When I set up the nut, I noticed the nut slot was not real cleanly done in the bottom.

The other person in my duo did an iPhone video of one song I did the other night. From that I have noticed that the high E isn't as dead as I thought it was. A little soft though.

Some people on line say 'always play an acoustic through an acoustic amp or PA'. I often use a small tube amp. The other night I was using a Princeton Reverb. Anyone think there is any validity to that?
I like mine through my tube amp, I've put it through the PA a couple of times and it didn't sound right for what I'm doing.

$400 to 1k for a refret? The local shop is $400 for a full refret, using standard wire i would guess.

Play what you like, I'd say.

I do have one complaint after playing this guitar more. The tone and volume controls inside the sound hole is a PITA. You cant really adjust that on the fly and it changes tone fast also.
The shame of it is they put a big battery compartment/output jack device on the butt of the guitar so cut a large hole anyway, why not put a real EQ on the upper bout as is traditional and give you a better EQ? Bean counters saving money I suppose.
I do have an older Guild Fishman EQ laying around and a saw!..........

It's a price point guitar. In this case, I think Guild did a good job spending the money on things that really matter. And folks here know that I'm not a huge fan of most of the Asian rim Guilds.

Looks like we have different versions. Mine is older.

My guitar has battery at neck block - requires loosening strings to get there.

As of tone control - unfortunately it is closer to digital ON/OFF than analog contineously variable style. 😔

Since you have the tools and parts - and from what I have gathered - you do know what you're doing - go for it ! 🎼

Mine is like this, lower bout. They didn't even use and endpin jack.
I'm gonna give it some time, I may get used to the tiny controls.

Mine has endpin connector - which is nice - but the the battery replacement requires string loosening.

As of those controls - I just have volume @ full and tone @ mid position. They are no good for any quick fine-adjustment.
