Look here:Greenwich Village?
Probably pre-Beatle boots, photo dated from 1962.Is he wearing Beatle boots?
Dylan is not only a consummate poet and songwriter, he has always had a great business sense, which is responsible for his survival far beyond anyone of his generation who started out in Greenwich Village, NYC. I don't know how he survived the early years in the sixties during which he abused amphetamines and other dangerous drugs. At some point by the early seventies he got "religion," or should I say religions, as he moved between Judaism and Christianity. Correct me, if I'm misremembering other faiths he may have espoused. Dylan perfected his own way of dealing with the music business, the press and his fans.
"mountains of mojo"
Sounds like a song to me....

Amphetamines were cheap and plentiful in the 50's and sixties, and doctors prescribed them as freely as they do anti-depressants now. Everybody from housewives to airline pilots to truckdrivers was on speed, and touring C&W musicians were some of the worst abusers - Roger Miller stayed awake for a week regularly. It's nasty stuff, but it won't kill you very quickly.I don't know how he survived the early years in the sixties during which he abused amphetamines and other dangerous drugs.
Yes, an appliance and furniture store. They were related to several of the Jewish business families in town. Was his father a business man?
