Just like William Least Heat Moon, I love the discoveries we make on backroads.

We found this little shop in Hot Springs, South Dakota, run by a woman who "escaped Connecticut just in time!"
Turns out that she was an inspector at the Ovation factory before leaving for the Wild West.

No Guilds on hand but she said she gets one on consignment every now and then. :D

Yes, there are some great picture ops out in the hinterlands. I really like the musical note on the side of the building.

Loved that book. Reminded me of a laid-back Kerouac.

Hey, great photo. I've been there!!!! Actually stayed just up the block, around the corner, past the triangle, cross the tracks and there ya go. It's where we stayed when we rode out to the Sturgis Bike rally not long ago. Cool little town and lots of friendly folks.
Just two blocks away my Princess took this picture.

Hot Springs, SD, is one of those hidden gems that you'll never fully
appreciate until you drive/ride/walk through it. Just stay out of trouble!

If you look at that pic really fast, then close your eyes, it's looks like Doc's head is on Mt Rushmore.
