This guitar was supposed to go in the 'What's your best Guild acquisition in '07?' thread but it took a little longer to get it.

Here it is; minus the pickguard!

It's not always easy for me to describe a sound, let alone the difference between two sounds but I would say less constrained for lack of a better word; a little more 'air'!

I know what you mean. My maple starfire 12 sounds constrained, and I've thought about putting dynasonics in it.

man i wish i could use single coils in my house, but due to the dirty power it's only humbuckers for me. but the XII with buckers, tho indeed a bit constrained sounding, actually matches well to counter the 12string jangle inherent in those boxes. match that with a darker sounding amp with moderate compression and something nice and lush comes out. very atmospheric! here's a clip way back when i got mine (sans pickguard too by the way) and it's sounding even better now after a setup by Mr. Greco!
