Better Hard Case for Orpheum 12 Fret Dreadnought?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but since this guitar is roughly the same size as the Gibson Smeck inspired Jackson Browne model, I wonder if the Gibby case would work for my Orpheum slope shoulder 12 fret? It pains me that the case for this guitar is such an ill fitting, low quality piece of crap. I'm sure someone would make me a custom fitted hard case but that would likely be pricey. Any ideas where I might look for a better case?

I've heard a few times about the crappy Orpheum cases. I must not be particular enough. I've had a few Orphs and I had no problems with the cases.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if it's the original case. There is no Guild marking or tag of any kind on it. It is too big for the guitar and it is free to slide around quite a bit. Not good.

The case that came with my slothead is adequate for my needs, but if it were a gigging guitar I'd want a little better one. It is not nearly as good as the Oxnard dread case I bought for my D55, but better than a hard case without the arched top. I'll wait to see what comes with the dread that's on its way.

Hiscox, Hiscox, Hiscox. The cases are designed so that the side of the body is suspended from the walls of the case by foam pads. These can be changed easily and Hiscox will provide the correct pads for your guitar. These cases seem quite spartan, but are very well built and a friend has flown on many international flights with his. This is the basic $300 version. Contact Hiscox or a dealer and they will get you the right case. You can spend for their heavy duty cases, but there is really no need. They are also light.

Well, it's pretty unfair to cry and blame Guild for an "ill fitting, low quality piece of crap" if the case indeed was not supplied by Guild to you...Have you posted pictures of the case before? I definitely would not call my two Orpheum cases (original) "ill fitting" and "crap". They fit and do the job for me like Richard also said. Yes, there are nicer cases out there. People are so quick to blame somebody else today for all kind of reasons but didn't do their research first...

Agreed, my Orphs fit nicely in their cases, although I could see getting an upgrade if I foresaw any possible hand knock usage.

Fair enough. I can see where my poor choice of wording here is incorrect and unfair to Guild. I will try to do better. Still, I have gathered from other Orphuem owners that their cases also left a little to be desired. And to make me look even more like an idiot, the wording in Elderly's ad does state Hardshell case, not Original Hardshell case. I'll try to get some decent pics posted here in the next day or so.

Thanks! I will look into them.

Is this the case in question? This is not a Guild supplied case.

This is how the Guild case looked: (white stiches, additional latch on mid neck area, TKL Made in Canada on the inside).
