To pile on... I lean towards the later models made from 1996-2004, but they are all good, just different due to slight differences in construction and pickups used depending on the year it was made.

...the people who know better than most and who aren't trying to justify an inflated asking price for a pre-Corona guitar have absolutely no problems with Coronas from a quality standpoint.
Especially when you know the famous people who were building some of them...

Right, found an old post from Jahn on another forum about his Fleming Corona Blues90 prototype and that they even used nitro on those in Corona where Westerlys were poly, major point being that they brought in Fleming who was certainly, uh, instrumental in maintaining Guild design/build quality in Corona, but thought it might be a bit much since this thread is about Starfires...
