Rich Cohen is selling an X-500 on the forum right now, and while I wouldn't call it an "investment" necessarily, it is a tremendous value on a very desirable model. I'm not a jazz guy, but even so I am tempted.
PittPastor, I think this about sums it up, IMO. But there are advantages to this investment talk. My wife is under the impression that my guitars are good investments; I just let her go on believing that so it makes it easier to purchase another one from time to time. I've even told her that I don't buy them for "investments" but she just doesn't want to believe that, and so I don't push it. Seriously, an instrument needs to be played. There are other less animate objects [yes, guitars have an anima !] out there on which to park your money. Thus endeth the sermon. If you aren't going to play it, there are better investments.
I believe @donnylang is selling a nice Hoboken F-30 right now FYII've been looking for an F-30 this past year, and only a handful have come up
