That's a Newark St. The top is a laminate unlike the US-made Bluesbirds. I agree, though - some of the Newark St. tops are killer.

Regarding the laminate (veneer) on the carved top: (which is not a "carved maple top" as the specs show)

Laminate was not the right word - it's a veneer, but I'd have a hard time believing that 1mm thick wood was "carved".

Agreed, but what's under the veneer? Still a cheaper maple top on a hog routed out body or is it a two layer hog with the maple veneer?
