Looks like a hell of a guitar. I really dig the silver one in the video, seems to be going for $1500 new! But it seems like they spec them out really nicely. Anyone on the forum get one yet?

Sounds nice, but the Chesterfield with the V-block inlays doesn't look right.

LB1s are hotter n the neck than they are in the bridge.

Nothing really new here. It's not a new reissue, it's the same Newark St. Starfire VI that is available since NAMM in January 2016 now. So no new features. Simply two new color combinations are offered now. Snowcrest White and Shoreline Mist. The original offered Flamed Maple version is also still available.

Oh, well that's not so exciting now is it?

Huh you’d think you’d get a G shield for $1500. And for the pickups to be better balanced. Guess I’ll wait to get a killer deal on an old Westerly Starfire.

These look awesome! Love the colors. I am bummed though that these “top of the line starfire” guitars (Guild’s description) don’t get an LB-2. They have the HB-2 out on the SF1 line. Why don’t they have LB-2’s that’re balanced? Or at least voiced different for a change?

I love my NS SFV enough to look at a VI if there’s a pickup difference. But it’s only aesthetic.

BUT!! If someone doesn’t have a NSGuild, these would be awesome! At least I think so. Especially that Shoreline Mist one.

Ive played both of these and they are indeed very beautiful, and the guy playing in the video is also excellent so it depends on who's hands they are in! Personally I toured extensively with a 2016 Starfire V for 3 years and never had any issues, and i adjusted the height of the pickups to balance out the output of both equally, plus they have adjustable pole pieces for more accurate string-to-string output (duh) just like any other guitar. One issue is the bridge saddles - they are stationary and will go out of tune with regular vibrato use, so i replaced them with roller saddles and lubed the nut and i was good to go. The other obvious "issue" is an aesthetic one being the G-shield on the headstock vs the Chesterfield. It is true that the shield looks better and is the traditional identifier of the top-of-the-line VI model, but the Chesterfield does look great and these particular colors were never released before anyways, so i guess you'd have to balance that out in your mind. My guess is that they are saving the G-shield for the eventual (hopefully) USA electric line since the USA acoustics have them and their factory in Oxnard makes the "G" faceplates rather then the Korean one.

I think you mixed up the numbers/letters here. The Starfire IV, V and VI have the LB-1 pickups (mini pickups) according to the specs on Guild's webpage.
HB-2 (at least according CMG's definition, as this was the vintage bass pickup in the past) are standard sized humbuckers, which for instance the Aristocrat HH have. I didn't notice before that the lower cost Starfire I line indeed seems to have those HB-2 according to the specs.

I think he's saying that it's time for an LB2
