Any X150D lovers out there?

New member here, and got a few Guilds. One of the toys I have is an X150D, and I don't see too much discussion on this board about this fantastic instrument!!!

Anyone else out there have one of these beauties, and if you do, how do you use it? I'm mostly an acoustic player, and so I play the same kind of stuff through it, but I know that a jazzy playing method could just make this puppy sing?

If you've got one, what do you do with it...I mean, what kind of music do you play?

Mine is a later model blond X-150, single pup, perfect for more modern jazz. The humbucker on it sounds great, the laminate top makes it quite feedback resistant and the tone control will brighten it up quite a bit if needed. With the 2 pups on yours you have additional tonal variety so there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to play anything you want on it. They are pretty flexible instruments IMO, and the best bang for the buck in a reasonably priced but pro level instrument.

My X150 is the guitar I grab when I want a fairly modern jazz sound. Paired with a Polytone it's perfect for that and pretty simple to dial in the tone I want. Sometimes I think about a fancier Guild X-whatever but to be honest, that's more about the fancy than the sound, since the less expensive model makes a more sensible instrument for gigging anyway.

I don't care for the poly finish, but the guitar works so well I tolerate it.

There are probably more X150 discussions over on the archtop category.
