 When I left for work this morning, it was 54 degrees, it's now 2:00 pm and 22 degrees with the wind blowing like crazy and snow flurries. Chill factor is 7 degrees out there right now. Get ready East Coast.

So far, most of the really bad weather has been missing us by about 50 miles to the north or south so far this year. :D :D

Wes, we just got 7-8" of light and fluffy since this morning about 8 AM...pretty much stopped now and we are supposed to get 9 to whatever more of snow, sleet or freezing rain tonight into tomorrow...everyone has a different forecast and different amount...the Husqvarna is
having a blast, but I am running out of places to put thow the stuff! Oh, its 17 to 19 degs, depending on what thermometer you use, though it is very still so no wind chill.

Still, probably just mild opposed to what the brothers have gotten up North, eh Graham, eh?

Oh gosh, I'll take the snow all day next instead of the freezing rain Bill.....man, that stuff causes major problems down here. We're looking for wind chills near zero tonight......and I'm "On Call" for work!

While I look back and sigh...the feeling of the cold weather coming, the lull before the storm and all the prep...I miss terribly...

But, the telephone calls or hearing the whistle at night when I am all toasty and warm...I can only say that I am relieved I don't have to go in to the station :)

So, you have my sympathies...wanna borrow my night-hitch?

Nah, it only gets real bad when we have to climb the columns to fix something......but it has happened.

Just saw the ice in Dallas on the Steeler's news this evening. You folks really got it bad there, and no salt trucks to deal with it.
Nothin' worse than driving on ice. But at least it's flat down there. When we get freezing rain here, even parked cars can slide down hills.

You probably want to check with local law enforcement about any laws while being out on the ice. You know that when the frozen lake becomes a shanty town it gets patrolled by the authorities.

Also if you get turned around, and wind up here in Michigan get ahold of me. Out of all the states in the US, we are first in treating our Canadian neighbors well.

Drive safe, and enjoy. Leave a few fish in the lake for ther next trip.

Thanks Craig. We may take you up on that as Upper Michigan is a place we want to visit.

I knew a fellow who went to a dogsledding outfit up in Canada. They would run a couple teams up to a nice cabin, spend the night, then mush back home. He said it was a blast.

Not sure what that had to do with snowmobiles, but there it is!!
