I recently snagged a new GAD-F40P and must say this is a sweet machine!
I have a few nice USA Guilds, and this 'Made in China' model holds it's own.
The padauk back & sides project nicely, yet she retains a mahogany-like crisp/brightness.
12 fret, 1 3/4" nut, spruce top, bone nut & saddle, ebony pins, fancy MOP inlays, open-back Grovers, sage tweed case is a bonus too!
Here's she is:

Good to hear that that one is a good unit. I've never come across any of the padauk GADs but have read favorable comments on the F-30PCE. I wish Guild would make a 12 fret cutaway.
Good luck with it!

That's such a pretty guitar...would you call it an OM size?

Excuse the veer here, but David, I just wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed "Seem To Recall" on California's CD. I listen a lot.

And it is a pretty GAD Archie....congrats.

Hey Archie, congrats on the purchase. The first GAD I played was an F40P, and I was stunned by the clarity and volume it possessed. It proved to be the catalyst for my acquiring a 30RE (I had my heart set on an OM). I think what you have there is a 12 fret, deep bodied OM, and made with an unusual wood to further set it apart. Very cool.

Re-veer here: What West said about your music, David!
