Another project guitar to share. I lusted after one of these in college but couldn't swing the cost. Wound up with a D-35 instead.
This was pretty beat. The neck had broken the top and shifted down. I used an espresso maker and a cam strap to loosen the glue and crank the neck back straight. Scary but effective, go with what you got as the saying goes. Put in a wooden block and reinforced the top where it had cracked.
Someone who had the WORST picking style had ground a dent into the top below the pick guard. Who does that?!... uh,besides Willy Nelson So I over sized the pick guard to cover it up. Sanded the top down after removing the bridge. Refinished in satin. I left the cracked nitro on the rest of the guitar untouched.
Installed bridge DR. and used brass pull through pegs on the lower strings. Threaded two of these and have bolted the bridge down through the interior bridge plate. I never wanted to do this bridge reset again BTW. All this damped down the sound a bit but it still sounds great. Lowest action all down the fret board, it's crazy how nice this is to play. I was looking for a pickup and happened across the beauty. It is a Baho Sexto Lace Sensor single coil Made for a Spanish style 10 string. Actual gold plating. I contacted Lace because I couldn't find any information about it. Turns out only 20-30 were ever made, so no surprise about no info. A true unicorn pickup. Anyway

Adam, good job! That pickup is certainly unique. And, of course, you've got that wonderful, tiger-stripe neck on it. Boy, I really love those!

SO COOL right? I love the neck on this guitar for how pretty it is AND how low the action is.

Great job, looks cool with the flame neck. I’m in the JF30-12 club and loving it, (though I have the hog neck)

In fact I just spent the morning learning 39 by Queen finally 😁 12 strings is double the fun!
