Hey everybody. I'm new here (this is my second post). Just lucked up on a craigslist GF30. Got it a couple of months ago for $500. I previously had a 1990 model that had finish checking and needed a neck set. The sound just didn't live up to my expectations (I'm sure because the saddle was so low). Anyway, my '87 sounds unbelievable with rich tone and tons of sustain. Would love to hear from other GF30 owners. Here is an interesting link about James McMurtry's GF30's. It's rather old. I know he doesn't tour with the purple one anymore but still shows up with the natural one.

Welcome to LTG.

Seems like a very good price on the GF30.

I just picked up a GF25, for the wife, and she loves it. The size and shape are perfect, so is the guitar.

Anyway, I think I'm on the lookout for a GF30 as I'm just not enamored with the sound of mahogany. So anyone out there with a GF30 and/or GF50/55 let me know, there will probably be a '72 D25 and possibly my GF25 up for sale/tradesies in the near future.
