I've been on the road with a couple of classic American names and here they are.
The picture says it all. :D

Guild and Coleman

No camping trip is complete without them.

Do I hear a second? All in favor?

Very nice.
Now I'm excited for this weekend.
That's when I will be out there with my Coleman and Guild.

By the way, my Coleman is a 1956 model.

How does the Guild guitar handle the outdoors? Is it a laminated model? By the way I own more Coleman products than Guild.

Great shot Joe.

I wonder how much Coleman stuff is still made in America. Probably not much. :(

EDIT: A little googling proved otherwise. Good for them! 8)

This particular Guild (F112-6) handles a variety of climates quite well, as evidenced by its dependability on my cross-country road trip last fall.
We left Washington state in the rain (go figure) and had consistently drier weather as we headed southeast and then even more so when we turned around and waltzed across Texas.
Cold nights, warm and dry days....it was all good.

Don't leave home without a Guild onboard. You'd miss it and probably get ornery to boot.

Boy, hasn't the camping experience become much more enjoyable within the last few years because of the quality of the gear. But even with all the light weight fabrics, trying to sleep inside a tent on a mid August night will never be what I could call "comfy"

Depends on where you pitch it, I guess.
At higher elevations around here you might appreciate a little warmth.

That's why I keep a 'significant other' handy. Besides that, she fries up a mean trout and shoots straighter than me.

If I can play photo editor for just a second, I think would would have made the shot even better would be if you could somehow see the grill of a 1950s Chevy pickup in the background. Or Ford pickup, depending upon which way you like to roll.

Good idea.
I guess a Toyota grill wouldn't be quite the same, would it?

Fine pic. What do you do for cushion when sleeping in the tent or is the tent for only the Guild? :)

Peace

The Guild sleeps in the truck, and we use either a couple of foam pads or a double bed-sized inflatable mattress. I sleep like a small child when I'm in a tent, especially if there's rain on the roof.

Backpacking, however, is not as luxurious....and the Guild stays home.
