Touring like that can't be good for your health. Too much bad food for one, and too many bars.
For me they have more warmth and when finger picked they have good overtones and sustain. On quiet nights you can really hear the intricacies between notes .I don't get the mahogany concept at all. Many of the large manufacturers now use all sorts of hardwood, dye them to a brownish hue and then call it mahogany. So I guess if it has a brownish hardwood top then it is mahogany. I tried a few including Guilds at my local guitar store and I find them too muted compared to my own guitars. When I see and hear them played at concerts they sound fine when they are well amplified through PA. People like them enough for factories to churn them out.
