For all you LTGer's who have encouraged my wife and I with the adoption of Jonathon, thank you! We travel to Toledo this Monday, the 29th, to go to court to finalize it. We are so looking forward to it.
We have seen such a change in him since we first brought him into our home the day after Christmas last year. What once was at least one daily temper tantrum/meltdown is now nearly non-existent. He still has moments of temperment when things don't quite go "his way", but all in all, his overall demeanor is revealing a 10 year old boy who just needed a chance to be a 10 year old boy.
And this is cool, he's already looking forward to baseball next year, loves the Cleveland Indians. I worked some long hours this week on a construction job for the Franklin County Metro Parks (Columbus, Ohio), leaving the house by 0430 and getting home most nights at 1900 hours. So one night I get home tired, drained from not having a working AC in the truck (yet) and Jonathon saids just when I get in the door, "Dad, you wanna play catch?"
I'll take that over a cold beer anyday....
