You don't see many pickups with trunks like that...

Got any pics of the cabin Thundermeister?

As a matter of fact ...

It's on a smallish pie-shaped lot on an 8,000-acre reservoir in Northern Minnesota. When the lake's at normal levels, the lower rocks on the shoreline will be in the water, kind of like this (I took this picture, looking to the east, while standing in the water in front of my cabin.).

Hell, that's not a cabin....looks like a palace to me! :D
Sweet home-away-from-home you have there Thunder.

If you ever need someone to look after it.....

Joe

Thanks, Joe. I am pretty lucky to have found it. My family has had a cabin on the lake since before I was born, so the lake plays a pretty integral part in my life. My oldest brother has the former family cabin, and my other brother also lives on the lake. And seeing that it's near the North Shore of Lake Superior, I would imagine that a skilled lensman such as yourself could shoot some great photos there. :D

Sweet!!! How deep is the lake?

It ranges from 10 feet to 40 feet and there's at least one deeper spot that's 94 feet. It seems like I have the shallowest spot on the lake on front of my place, which is perfect for the kids and makes for a fantastic water frisbee spot.

Thanks Scratch. The porch is great for picking. And Joe, I would have expected you to notice our Attack Flamingo.

This will give you an idea of the size of the lake

Island Lake Reservoir. If you look at a map of Minnesota, it is due north of Duluth, inland, away from Lake Superior.

Pretty darn cool place. We're lookin' for a place like that. A bit further south however to spend our winters.
Still, that's a great summer retreat.

Peace

Thanks BD. It would be a little cold in the winter, although the mode of transportation just rotates from boat to snowmobile.

For some reason, with the trees in bloom, the image that comes to my mind is that of Sideshow Bob.
