And......Here's the 'other' Guild. Vastly different in terms of condition, but I'd wager just as sweet in tone and playability. Maybe sweeter. It's had surgery twice and tuning pegs were switched to Schallers in the early 70's. Excuse the dust, this guitar stays out because I play it all the time. It has the best action and playability of any acoustic guitar I've ever touched. Don't have quite as many guitars as brother Chris, but am proud to own 75 Gibson SJ200, Turner Steelstring, 72 Telecaster Custom, 79 ES335, Kabiki Strat. My longest held guitar and dearest is the Guild. I was astonished when brother Chris even SAW one, then overjoyed when his friend gifted him the treasure next day.

I was living on Skyline Drive above Half Moon Bay, near Neil Young's place. Ron Harvey stayed for the summer. When he left for Colorado with is girlriend for College, the Opel Kadette Station Wagon was stuffed. No room for the Guild, so it stayed with me under a vow of 'never sell." that was in 1976. And here it is:

It cracks me up that people pay $$$ for 'distressed' new guitars. Balderdash I say! Not till I took these pix that I even looked at the wear and tear on my Guild. Look at it every day for 40+ years it always seems to look the same. You should see my Tele. OMG.

It really is an iconic instrument enwrapped with freindship, music and love. Overjoyed that a sister made her way to my brother. No one more deserving (He's way better musician than I)

Superb!!! Tom also took on my old M 30 and turned it into a great playing guitar, he's the best.

Enjoy your new addition. It is a sprecial one and I like the looks of yours better than mine but I also love mine all the same.
I bought a 1995 DV-62 from Richard, tweaked by Tom Jacobs. It's really stellar and a joy to play. Now I have two woods, maple and EIR and can't be happier. Anyone in need of a repair, please only use Tom Jacobs for serious work.
