Big fan of DB since the early '70s.
I learned Mr. Bojangles from his version, which I still think is the best I've heard.
His intro told the story about how he and Jerry Jeff Walker (he wrote it) used to "do horrible things" to the song after hours.

Very talented musician, to say the least.

Joe

*His version of Statesboro Blues is superb.

Never was a big Bromberg fan back when, but I saw him about three years ago when he was performing with the Angel Band. What a show.
I've been a big fan ever since.
Thanks for posting those.

back in the old coffee house days you could sit at a table or booth right beside the stage and try to remember some of what you saw, so you could 'steal' it....this reminds me of those great old days....
And often, if you asked the performers between or after sets, they'd show you how they did some things.

Good times eh Brad...imagine now....Tom Rush, Josh White, Joni Mitchell, James Cotton, Gord Lightfoot, Sonny and Brownie....so many....glorious days to get a close up experience of a lot of greats...and without breaking the bank either. Sometimes you'd get into a jam, after hours, or end up at a party where everybody was playing....I frequently took my guitar just in case.....try that now  :D Steffan
