I am just starting, trying, pretty lame though. I will not really know till 3 months in, at least. And I got to get past the first 3-4 weeks, typically I do not last longer than that. But I am optimistic this time...

If I can make it 3 months, I am going to purchase a Guild 12 string, made in RI. These things seem related.

One year my dad shaved his beard without consulting my mom. He left his mustache. She didn't speak to him for 2 days. I get it. He looked like a thinner Oliver Hardy.
When my daughter was young, maybe 4 ish, I shaved before work and when I got home, she recognized me, but was a little scared for some reason.

When I met my wife I had a full beard. She never knew me without one. About 10 years in I had a job interview near where she worked so we agreed to meet for lunch. Called her from the lobby and said I was there, and to come out and meet me. What I didn’t tell her was that I shaved my beard for the interview.

She walked within 12 inches of me, right past where I was sitting, and out the front door. Didn’t even recognize me.

I've had a well trimmed, short beard since 1987 and a few before that I shaved off for one reason or another. It's permanent now, all grey. My wife always liked it. The one time I shaved it before 1987, she was pissed. I grew it right back.

I finally figured out why I thought this photo was familiar, Woody. The angle, your expression - it's the kid in the Van Halen "Hot for Teacher" video!

I like those Thalia rings! I got a matching set of abalone rings for me and the missus. She loves it!

I had a full beard for a short time but it’s too dangerous playing harmonica with those wild hairs getting caught in the cover plates. Ouch.

I’ve settled now on this Fu Manchu as a harmonica friendly beard style.
