Curious..... Just got this reply from the seller:

Yes I can confirm it was made in Westerly R.I. and the serial number is DL 100 633. Originally I thought the guitar was made in the 1990's but a correspondant has enlightened me to the fact that it is off an even better vintage-circa 1983.
Good luck
Lenny

Yes, 1982 to be precise!

I'll add my voice to the chorus praising the D-46! Love mine!

Mine also has the rosewood centerpiece down the back. I doubt that it affects tone much... but I like the way it looks (link in my sig to pics)!

You know what I was seriously contemplating it but I really think Mrs Lopez would have filed for divorce. What small amount of 'music funding' I have is going on buying up old chord/reed organs and the moment. Picked up a nice 1970's one for £15 last weekend!!

Think I asked which part of England - but forget your reply (senile decay) - and what is a chord/reed organ - is it like a mouth organ or like the big thing you get in a church - or somewhere in between :?:

I'm in Buckinghamshire, got family in Swindon so spend a fair bit of time in Wilts.

A chord organ is like harmonium but has a motorised fan inside which blows air over the reeds. They have buttons a bit like an accordion so you can play a whole chord by pressing one button and play a melody with your free hand. Something like this:
