The 50th Anni used real Brazilian and Englemann ;)

Yes. Already noted here:

Chaz, I'm pretty sure the 50th was Engelmann, not Adirondack.

It's nice to see them do something for the 70th that seems more genuinely special than the Cordoba GSRs. I won't be getting one, because (a) I'm already surrounded by rosewood dreads, (b) I've already spent all my guitar money for the year (and probably next), and (c) new guitars, with their anticipated break-in times, are less appealing to me now than they used to be. Still, this looks good.

Another gorgeous one in Europe:

My dealer told me US gets 40 of these, rest of world 30.

That's a lot of swag! :)

The COA looks like it says 1 of 10, but that's pretty blurry. That wouldn't be right.

Question to me would be if that is really 1 of 70, as it is not the one used for the stock pictures. EDIT: It is indeed #1 of 70.

Where'd this come from, @SFIV1967 ? The picture of the COA in the ad is pixellated at this magnification... Is that where it came from? Did you use some software to increase the resolution so you can read the digits? Just curious.

Your questions are valid. And I suppose 6-July-2023 would be about right for the first one.

Maybe there was a prototype made, which perhaps was used for publicity.

Gotcha', Ralf. I thought you'd found a way to work some magic, but great sleuthing! Thanks. So, yeah, it probably is 1 of 70 then.

Y'know what's a real laugh? Did you look at the by-line for this "The Fellowship of Acoustics" retailer? "Life is too short to play a shitty guitar"

I laughed!!!

Great guitar possibly, for all who want to get a life guitar (one for all)...It's very expensive yes, but I'd try it over any of the Martin Authentics for instance, as long as the folks there don't get seriously involved in getting rid of these binding detachment issues they are faced to - since it's about the same kind of prices... One out of 70 might give the guitar a good resale value too, some years ahead of now.
They have Adirondack and Madagascar Rosewood in common (what about braces ?), but no VTS (bakered tops) on the Guild...Unless you like the roasted woods it could be a good choice and it's "cheaper". (But I won't get one - I'm through with expensive guitars for now).

The binding issues on Martins are way overblown, I think. My D18A 1939 has had the repair, and it was simple and inexpensive.

@FNG Y'know, good call. What I'm thinking is that those are some fine shavings from the Evo frets. They don't have a lot of experience with that material, and maybe that's what we're seeing. Also, that is VERY enlarged and might not be very visible at all. Maybe it just needs a fretboard cleaning is all.

Yikes, kinda looks like a butchering job of the fret slot for sure, but could be an optical illusion. Then again, in todays manufacturing sector, it wouldn’t surprise me to see QC say eh, good enough, send it along.
