Hi Everyone! This is my first post, so I hope it’s in correct thread and format.
*Posted pictures below.
So a month ago I was asked by a close friend to help go through a storage unit of gear, who was owned by Paul Oscher(Muddy Waters’ Harmonica Player). He passed away of Covid and left her all his gear. I’ve been doing my best to inventory, catalog, price, and oversee the sale of the gear as the vultures have come out of the woods and have tried to take advantage and low ball her.
His Harmonicas are being handled by a friend who specializes in that but I’m helping with Guitars, Amps, and Pedals.

So let’s get to the good part! As well as reason We are all here.
Amongst a plethora of drool worth gear, I found three Guild Model 200-S amps(not guitars)in amazing condition. Of one of those is an identical model but branded Sonola. It also has a pair of Jensen Concert speakers where the 2 Guild J-200s have Guild branded 12” speakers.
I’ve researched and found minimal info on either amp other than there rare and The Sonola is identical but was branded Sonola to market to accordion players. I have absolute no idea of value on either amp, and haven’t seen any that have sold anywhere online.
I believe there all original except one looks to have new tubes.
Any Info would be so helpful. I want to make sure my friend gets full value as she has done so much for the austin music community.
Thanks for any help I hope y’all at least geek over the pics like I did when i F5845F09-2DF0-4C95-9F7E-1653900168CC.jpeg

They look nice and clean, and the provenance may add to the value, but I have no idea what that might be.

The Guild branded speakers look superficially like Oxfords to me, but you can tell more from the EIA Source/Date code often stamped on the frame. I believe our own Hans Moust was the one who first brought it to the attention of the guitar community. Its a, five, six or seven digit code, formatted as the manufacturer code followed by the year (1 or 2 digits) and the week (always 2 digits).

You will find more buyers and make more money if you sell them individually, but it might take more time.

Oh, and those Jensens are exceptional sounding speakers.

wild find, thanks for stopping by.

the amps are 200-S

the guitar is S-200

Guild was famous for incorrect label writing (looks like one of yours is correct however)

@Muddyjr If you're looking to sell this, you'll have to post a few more times on the board, and then you'll be admitted to post in the FS/WTB forum. In any case, good luck gathering the info. This stuff looks exceedingly clean to my eyes, but personally I have no idea of value.

Price for these is tricky. While Steve and I paid ~$750 for ours, you have to take into account how many people know and want one. If it’s a highly desirable amp coveted by many, the price can go up and up. Guild amps, sadly, are relatively unknown, even among our sheltered community, so the market is much smaller than even, say, vintage Supro or Gibson amps. That’s not a reflection on the quality of the amps, but rather on the poor market saturation Guild did back then. So, while they may deserve more, you’ll probably struggle to get more than $1000, if you can get that. Especially with the shipping involved with these heavy beasts. (And selling locally further shrinks the already small market.)

Also, don’t even think about trying to find a buyer who will want all 3. I don’t know if such a person exists, even among us.
That said (and these are, of course, just my personal opinions), I hope you do find a buyer for 2 of them. You might want to keep one for yourself and be a member of a rather exclusive club!

If you REALLY want to make some serious $$$. Try to get someone like Joe Bonamassa to use one in a high visibility venue. Then you‘ll have people clamoring for them in a bidding war!

I’d buy the cleaner one but it’s gotta be shipped to NJ and I bet it’s quite heavy.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Too heavy and too far to ship. :(

thanks for letting me know. I’ll edit the post and remove mentioning selling them. I since found out they were kept in road cases and only used in studio. But we’re used to record with muddy waters. Trying to find some pictures of Paul using the amps with muddy.

I did a search online and did not see any pics of the Amps. But if he used them exclusively in studio there most likely will not be any. Very distinguished musician!
