There are definitely MIJ Epi Chet models like this. They had a small sticker on the headstock back. Does yours say Korea ?This is mine, though I paid about £400 for it in the end. I'm not sure why he thinks it's Japanese rather than Korean, other than to sell it.

Can I ask where you got this info?I think he is right about it. That version with the Casino/etc headstock shape was sold only in Japan, and a later run with the Gibson shape was sold in the US, both made in Japan as I understand it. In the late 80s/early 90s much of the Epi line was still made in Japan, with the lower end models being Korean.
