I recently acquired a 2014 Guild Newark Street M85 Semi hollow body bass and thought I would share the internal construction of the body.
It is what I would think of as a typical semi hollow body construction where basically the body is built as an acoustic bass/guitar with the addition of a block of wood down the center of the body from neck to tail. To take these photos I removed the single pickup and used an inexpensive WiFi snake type camera inside the body to see what was inside. I did find one interesting design feature however. In the area between the pickup and the neck the block is cutout away from the top. Only a thin section of the block continues along the back.
