2012 d50 ($1400)

2012 Guild D-50 Trad w/DTAR Spruce/Rosewood. Sunburst

I bought this a few months ago in the midst of my Guild exploration dive.
It is a wonderful square shoulder rosewood boomer, and the Dtar system is great.

It is in Excellent+ shape...showroom condition.

I have too many right now and my Guild G45 suits my playing style more than the rosewood. Set up is perfect.

Here is the reverb ad from my purchase: Guild D-50 Trad w/DTAR Spruce/Rosewood #NP083002 - Used

I have no idea whether it originally had a pick guard. I don’t see any markings at all.

This thing is a cannon!

$1400, includes shipping via UPS to Continental US.
Thanks

Nice 50! Almost looks like a GAD sans pg.. I would be willing to bet it had a guard at some point.. Good luck!

Actually I think this at least the 3rd NH model that I can recall that didn't have a 'guard.
Also remember a D40 that looked as if it was shipped sans guard, as well as that "mystery" F47 that had a non-NH 'guard installed. Can't recall if any of 'em may have been from the "B" stock that was sold off at close of NH which might explain why 'guards were never installed, but I'm beginning to think they may have shipped at least some guitars that way for owners to install at their discretion, or even offered it as an option for a while.
As the question percolates down into the musty recesses of my brain, think we may have seen other examples way back when NH was still up and running.

Thanks Al! Once again you have provided much needed clarification.. Maybe whoever picks this one up should put a juicy Gibson batwing PG on there :)

As far as tone, volume and playability, the D 50 is one of my all-time favorite Guild Rosewood acoustics. Good luck.

I wonder if there's such a thing as a "thong" pickguard?

Remember that in theory, when I am Moderating, a goal is to keep FS/FT a veer free zone.

And if you respond in this thread to my comment then you will make me think I failed to make myself clear. :)

Too funny.

This is a great D50...and a really pretty sunburst as well.

I don’t have a reverb listing for it, I just have it listed on the forums. The reverb listing is from the store I bought it from. I guess I overpaid considering how little interest there is in it. It’s a wonderful guitar and in stunningly great cosmetic shape. I’m enjoying it... it’s just that I have too many and I don’t feel like I need to have 2 square shouldered dread guilds... and the Hank Jr. Is so much more of a rarity.

I hear you. Well good luck! That seems a fair price for a D-50 in good shape..

I’ve found another guitar that I’d like to fund. Motivated seller here. Open to fair offers. This is good one!
Thanks
