Can you clarify what CONUS PP is? Continental US and PayPal? Thanks! We might be able to do something.....

CONUS is continental US which excludes Alaska, Hawaii and some of the possessions and territories. The OP said PP Gift which means PayPal but the buyer tell PayPal that it is a gift. That is important because depending upon how the buyer funds PayPal, sometimes sending a gift imposes a charge or fee on the sender. Simplistically "PP Gift" tells me that the seller expects me to pay all PayPal fees.

Yes CONUS is the continental USA. PP Gift doesn't cost either of us anything. Otherwise it's 3% fee to the seller. Bad part for the buyer is the gift option offers you no protection in the event of fraud. If that makes anyone nervous I'd take regular PP and split the fee. In this case $15 each.

I'm not sure that is always true. When I tried to do a PayPal gift funded from a credit card PayPal told me I would pay a 3% fee. Since it was a commercial transaction, I found an another way to pay besides PayPal. Personally I have a problem with a business that wants me to use PayPal Gift - if they cannot afford to pay the fee then they should not accept PayPal - but it is much less black and white with an individual.

In any event, that's one of the best deals you are ever gonna find in an American-made, adi-topped mahogany Guild with factory electronics!

I can verify Frono's post about the 3% charge to the sender of Paypal Gift with a Credit Card. The only time it does not charge a fee is if you pay with a current balance from your paypal account. For instance if you sold a guitar for $500 and received the payment to your paypal account, That would be your paypal balance as long as you didn't transfer it to your Bank account. Then say you find a guitar you want to buy for $400. If you pay for it using the balance you already have in your Paypal account there would be no fees. I am and have been a verified paypal user for years. I recently sent some money to my niece through paypal gift from my credit card and it charged me the 3% fee.

Good luck with your sale!

Another clarification. It is also free if you've linked your bank account with PayPal; you don't have to keep a balance on PP. It's only a credit card that triggers a fee using the gift option.

Btw, I can vouch for the seller, AND the guitar. The only reason(s) I sold it to him were some heavy vet bills, and my hands prefer a slimmer neck/shorter scale. It's a great guitar.

Thanks for the replies....Yes if you use a CC to send money via PayPal gift you get charged a fee. If you have $$ in your PP account there are no fees. Again, If you want to use use regular Paypal I'll split the $27(3%) fee. Either way it's a great deal!...someone buy this thing before I change my mind, again!!!
