Always an honor, man. Say, how is life outdoors? (I need to check with someone who actually lives there, as I may have forgotten...)So nice to see you back, Christopher, and sharing your impeccable work and insight!
Thank you, sir. It was a series of events I was certain would not happen to me... ;~}What a frustrating repair. Gorgeous work Christopher!
What could possibly go wrong, right? It was a good save, working on a work bench in the woodshed full of wood, in August ;]
No, those are my shoulders you would have seen drooping after the top ripped off.Is it me or does yours look more slope shouldered than mine did?
It ain't a 612, Charlie, but I was thinking it's only a few numbers away. Then I woke up. ;~}Welcome back, Chris!!!!! The resto looks great!
Ah, don't sell yourself short, man. A weekend or two with me in my shop and you'd be downright unstoppable.

Thank you, Bob. That guitar started out with a very heavy tint on the sides and back, to hide the lack of attractive wood beneath. I stripped the whole thing (can't know 'til you've looked). The sides were ugly so I re-tinted them dark, but the back looked really good toward the center. I happen to think those Mahogany archbacks are begging for a 'burst to accentuate the contour, and this one turned out very nice. I am pleased you liked it.Christopher,
Always great to see meticulous craftsmanship! The burst you added to back of that guitar is magnificent.
Hi Ralph. Not planning on going anywhere. I just get busy busy sometimes. Besides, how could anyone having even the briefest encounter with a Guild stay from this forum for any length of time? That is outstanding work, I'm Wowed. Stick around, we need you.
Ralph
Hey Woody, I am just a couple miles from Charlotte. Asheville is a little over an hour and a half away, but that does not stop me from visiting... for the food, of course. ;~}Christopher, you still in NC?
Asheville if I remember correctly?
I have not seen a D4 look like that.
